This work does not require that you believe in reincarnation. Client experiences during past life work may be past life recall, or access to the energies of actual lives of others that resonate with them, or may simply be subconscious metaphor. My work in this area is an outgrowth of my support of my client's religious and spiritual belief systems, as these can be both strong motivators and assist in reaching their goals. What matters is the results; the shifts my clients are able to make in their behaviors and in integrating themselves as a result of our work together. Hypnotherapy is neither magical nor mystical, it is the key to opening a state of consciousness where you have access to information in your subconscious not easily accessible when the conscious mind is front and center.
Over the years, since I started doing this work in the late 1970s, I have studied many theoretical frameworks for past life work, and many different approaches for accessing past lives. I received my professional training with Dr. Brian Weiss, MD, and have studied the full range of research studies from the scientific research of Dr. Ian Stevenson of the Department of Psychiatric Medicine at the University of Virginia of University, to anthropological cross-cultural and sociological works, and the study of comparative religions . For those who believe in reincarnation and have the desire is to learn from past experience, experiential work is much more potent than having one's lives read by an intuitive. Both direct hypnotherapy and a more shamanic approach work well. For those who seek to shift behaviors and release blocks to achieving goals "past life memories", like childhood memories, may arise spontaneously during the hypnotherapy process and can be strong change agents to help clients to let go of blocks to achieving their goals.
