What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a natural state of intensified focus. You've felt it
before when you have been totally absorbed in something to the
extent that you've lost track of time and become removed from an
awareness of other things in the environment. It is a state of
relaxation during which your conscious mind is quieted, your body
relaxed, your fears calmed. Your subconscious mind can be directly
accessed during hypnosis.
How
does it work?
Being able to access the subconscious
mind makes hypnosis a very powerful tool. As well as controlling
the autonomic processes
like breathing, digestion, the heart and circulation; the subconscious
is the home of our creativity, imagination, dreams, emotions
and habituated behaviors. It stores all we have ever known
and experienced ; everything that determines our behaviors
and how we respond to all manner of external and internal stimuli.
This works both for us and against us, reinforcing both positive
and negative behaviors, and valid and invalid belief systems;
our reactions from everything both external and internal from
the TV news to our body's pain mechanisms.
What is Hypnotherapy?
In hypnotherapy we intentionally open wide the door between the
conscious and subconscious mind. We can shift responses to
external and internal stimuli, memories and experiences by
directly accessing the subconscious. These can range from our
emotional responses to situations that cause fear and anxiety,
to the way we behave in relationships, to how we experience
and respond to pain, to how we form our sense of identity and
esteem. If there is a true desire to change, we can use the
subconscious to change our behaviors and responses to stimuli.
Positive suggestions made can help to accelerate changes in
patterns of behavior, and integrate these into one's life.
Hypnotherapy is neither magical nor mystical,
it is the key to opening a state of consciousness where you have
access to
information in your subconscious not easily accessible when the
conscious mind is front and center. All hypnosis is self hypnosis.
A hypnotherapist can help you to harness the amazing power of your mind and body to shift your life and achieve your goals.
Hypnotherapy is neither a medical procedure, nor a practice of medicine. It is not intended to be a replacement for the diagnosis or medical treatment of any medical, psychiatric or psychological ailment. Persons with an ailment or physical complaint are encouraged to see their physician first and then make use of hypnotherapy as an adjunct to their medical treatment.

Hypnotherapy
and Coaching: Integrating Modalities
As a coach I act like the sun above you, shining a light on you,
helping you to find and follow the path to your true self AND
integrate it into a balanced form of your everyday life. As
a hypnotherapist I can help you to get in touch with your subconscious
and thereby parts of you that your conscious mind is, for reasons
of past experience, personal or cultural, blocking you from
recognizing and bringing your highest potential into the light
of day.
What if the question is not why am I so infrequently the person
I really want to be, but why do I so infrequently want to be
the person I really am?
-----Oriah Mountain Dreamer
For some people coaching is the path to success. I 'lead
people from behind'. It is the client's commitment to make changes in
their lives and my being there as guide, witness, and as an accountability
anchor that helps them to succeed. When we find resistance or
a block to goals set by the client, we can generally release
the block with hypnotherapy.
